Blazo Ljubicic has broad professional experience in areas of thermal and mechanical design of process equipment, He holds Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics "Modeling the Hot Water Dried Low Rank Coal Pipeline Transportation," M.S. (Flow in Pipeline Networks), and is registered as a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, USA. From 1991 until 1996, he has been with the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC), at the University of North Dakota where he was involved in research and development of advanced power plant processes, including modeling, testing, and optimizing components such as boilers, fluidized bed reactors, heat exchangers, incinerators, mixers, and piping systems. From 1996 until 1998, he was the Director of Research at the Heat Transfer Research, Inc. (HTRI), responsible for conducting application oriented research on large-scale equipment in the general field of heat transfer and associated fluid flow. Since 1998 Blazo is with Koch Industries and is currently Director of Technology at Koch Heat Transfer Group. He is involved in a product design, including mechanical, thermal, flow, and performance analysis of various types of heat transfer equipment used in the chemical, process, and power generation industry. Blazo published number of articles, presented papers at technical conferences, and thought Short Courses on different subject on process equipment design and optimization.. The projects that he has been involved allowed him to observe a wide range of problems encountered in power generation and petro-chemical industry.
